HomeWell Franchising Elevates Owner Training with LaunchWell, an Innovative Onboarding Program

Burkburnett, Texas — January 18, 2024 — Following the successful rollout of its proprietary learning management system (LMS), Learning Lab, in May, HomeWell Franchising continues to raise the bar for learning with the introduction of LaunchWell this January. LaunchWell marks a significant milestone in the evolution of HomeWell’s training, catering to new franchisees, whether experienced in healthcare, entrepreneurship, or entirely new to the industry and business ownership, all while offering continuing professional education for its operating owners.

“LaunchWell builds upon the foundation laid by Learning Lab’s courses by bringing more depth and context,” said Michelle Cone, Senior Vice President of HomeWell’s Training and Brand programs. “It’s a critical component of our new LMS, integrating practical, real-world applications and allowing for a more engaging experience. It also provides clear direction for each owner in their journey, preparing those new for the challenges they’ll face in their day-to-day while meeting the ongoing education needs of those who have been in our system for years.”

Cone explains that LaunchWell replaces HomeWell’s previous operations training, moving away from live lecture-style sessions toward a more flexible and interactive learning experience that still includes the benefits of live discussion through workshops.

“A live lecture about operations can feel like you’re drinking out of a fire hose, only able to retain a small percentage of that information,” said Cone. “Now, with Learning Lab’s LaunchWell, they can access and assimilate the material at their own pace, then connect with other owners in workshops to talk through what they’re learning; it’s fewer talking heads and more collaboration.”

Erika Ehlers, HomeWell’s Senior Director of Learning and a 25-year professional training veteran, spearheaded the LaunchWell initiative from its extensive research phase almost two years ago through its entire development. Ehlers highlighted that one of the greatest challenges in building LaunchWell—yet what also makes it exceptionally effective—is equipping owners completely new to home care or business ownership with the essential skills and knowledge to navigate the intricacies of the industry.

“We aim not just to provide information but to instill confidence and competence,” said Ehlers. “Many of our franchisees start out with limited knowledge about the inner workings of this industry or how to run a business, and LaunchWell rectifies this by bridging the knowledge gap. It also acclimates them to being a part of a franchise system, introducing them to the tools we’ve developed to help them capture their local market and build fruitful relationships with clients and referral sources.

Ehlers and her team have crafted a transformative onboarding experience in LaunchWell with an easy-to-follow learning roadmap. However, she emphasizes that LaunchWell’s curriculum and live workshops extend beyond onboarding; they are also available to operating owners as a refresher. This ensures that owners can continually gain new insights and share their strategies with fellow franchisees in a supportive environment.
